Community Grants Program
The ULF Community Grants Program provides 1-year grants to non-profit organizations serving the Latino community, and that are successfully leveraging resources and establishing partnerships with stakeholders and other service providers in Los Angeles County. Once a year, the United Latino Fund seeks nonprofit organizations committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children, families and individuals particularly in the areas of arts, education, health, human services, community development, and community safety. Grants support programs ONLY.

Eligibility Criteria:
Proposals will be accepted from non-profit organizations with proof of a tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not classified as a private foundation; Independent sponsored projects of a non-profit 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor; Located within and serving residents of Los Angeles County; With experience and commitment serving the Latino population; Preference will be given to organizations with budgets of $500,000 or less; Past grantees are eligible to apply depending on past performance and compliance on previous funding terms.

Funding Limitations: (ULF will NOT support the following)
• Requests from organizations that have received three (3) consecutive ULF grants.
• Muti-year requests.
• Individual requests for scholarships or fellowships.
• Capital Campaign or Endowment contributions.
• Major Equiptment.
• Direct assistance for the personal needs of an individual.
• Fundraising events, one-time sponsorships or annual appeals.
• Operating deficit or emergency funding.
• Religious purposes.
• Political organizations, campaigns or lobbying for specific legislation.
• Media projects like films, documentaries or video projects.
• Indirect costs (excluding fiscal sponsor fees) that exceed 15 percent of the total of requested personnel and operating costs.

Deadline for Submission
All proposals must be submitted to ULF offices by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009. ULF will NOT accept proposal packages received AFTER deadline. Also ULF will NOT accept faxed, emailed or incomplete proposal packages. Please review the guidelines and forms very carefully. SEE link below.
